U.S. Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida
Embry J. Kidd is a 2005 graduate of Emory College, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree with high honors in political science as a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar. Afterward, Embry attended Yale Law School, and upon graduation, clerked for Judge Roger L. Gregory of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
After his clerkship, Embry entered private practice at Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C., where he focused primarily on complex civil litigation. In 2014, Embry became a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division. There, he oversaw a variety of criminal investigations, including public corruption, white collar, crimes against children, and narcotics and firearms trafficking.
Embry assumed office as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the Orlando Division of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on July 25, 2019.
Embry married his Emory classmate, Noni Holmes-Kidd. Embry, Noni, and their toddler son, Robert, live in Winter Park, Florida.
