Jeanne Powell 21G 24PhD
Jeanne is a postdoctoral fellow at Emory School of Medicine, working under Drs. Lucas McKay and Abeed Sarker in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. She researchers the lived experiences of people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers by mining social media using natural language processing. She holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and psychology from Cornell University and previously worked as a postbaccalaureate IRTA Fellow at the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences, researching the noradrenergic system in mice. Jeanne recently completed her PhD in Behavioral and Systems Neuroscience at Emory's Laney Graduate School.
During her time at Emory, Jeanne was involved in the Woodruff Student-Alumni Committee and served as outreach chair for the Graduate Chapter of the Association for Women in Science.
