What advice would you give current Woodruff Scholars and Fellows?

One piece of advice I’d offer to current Woodruff students is to stay curious. Be relentless and expansive in a pursuit of new experiences and perspectives. Let your curiosity guide your academic and personal journey at Emory, push you to ask deeper questions, and seek out new areas of knowledge. Be curious about other people’s experiences; some of the most meaningful learning happens in conversation, in shared stories, and in opinions different from your own. Don’t be afraid to explore unfamiliar paths, whether that means joining a research project, switching fields, or building relationships with faculty and mentors whose work inspires you. The Woodruff Program gives you the flexibility, resources, and support to follow those sparks of interest wherever they lead. A unique privilege of being a Woodruff is the opportunity to foster curiosity—not just as a feeling, but as a habit.
