I discovered that I was a Woodruff Scholar in a kindergarten classroom. I came to Emory with a shared commitment to education and religion, but I had not yet realized how deep my passion for education was until I started looking for professional experiences. I kept gravitating to roles related to education.

If I could give any advice to a current Woodruff student, I would encourage them to intentionally and lovingly explore the roots of their interests. Spend time sitting with the memories of the formative people and impactful of experiences that brought you here, ask questions of them, ask questions of your interests, and seek guidance from people you trust when you grow fatigued.

Emory is a great place for this discernment. Finally, faculty are not the only people with wisdom on Emory's campus. Be sure to get to know the staff, administrators, and building supervisors. Wisdom is all around you!
