I first found Woodruff community when I attended an Emory College Scholar-Led Event to the Candler Park Fall Festival during my first semester at Emory. I was still navigating a new environment and trying to make friends, and the Woodruff community welcomed me with open arms. Later that semester, the Scholar Fellow who had organized the trip to Candler Park reached out to chat over coffee about how my first semester was going.

I realized then that Woodruff offered much more than just financial support—it is a community that invests in the flourishing of Scholars, in every sense of the word. I resolved to take an active part in this community, and four years later, I'm graduating from Emory having served as a Scholar Fellow for the past three years. I carried on the tradition of taking Scholars to the Fall Festival every year, and I take pride in having created new traditions, such as the annual volunteer trip to Doghead Farm. I am immensely grateful for everything the Woodruff community has given me, and I look forward to connecting with future Woodruffs as an alumnus.
