My Woodruff experience didn’t start as the perfect story. As a freshman, I struggled within the program to find my place and understand that this was an environment I belonged in. It wasn’t until my sophomore year that I realized how much this program meant to me. 
I had the opportunity to host two Emory College Scholars Program finalists and show them the “Emory Experience”. These students later went on to receive the scholarship and both attend Emory now. I think that experience helped them as much as it helped me. I realized how much joy and excitement I get out of showing Black Girls that Emory is a place where we can thrive and find community.
